The Most Holy Rosary

A meditation on Jesus Christ.

The Rosary leads us through the central mysteries of the life of Our Lord Jesus Christ—from the Annunciation, through His earthly life and Crucifixion, to His victory over sin and death in the Resurrection and His Ascension into Heaven.

At the Center

Every mystery leads us to Christ.

The Rosary is a centuries-old Catholic tradition of prayer. Its repeated prayers give rhythm to meditation on the great events of the Gospel.

We pray with the Blessed Virgin Mary as we contemplate her Son. Our Lord Jesus Christ is at the very center of every mystery. Without His life, Passion, death, Resurrection, and glory, there would be no mysteries to contemplate.

The Rosary is therefore not a distraction from Christ. It is a way of remaining with Him—returning again and again to the saving events of His life.

The Mysteries

The life of Christ contemplated in prayer.

The Rosary is traditionally prayed through four groups of mysteries, each drawing our attention to moments in the life and saving work of Jesus Christ.

I

Joyful

From the Annunciation and the coming of Christ into the world through His childhood and early life.

II

Luminous

Moments from the public ministry of Jesus, when He proclaimed the Kingdom and revealed Himself to the world.

III

Sorrowful

The Passion of Our Lord—from His agony before His arrest through His suffering and Crucifixion.

IV

Glorious

Christ’s victory over sin and death in the Resurrection, His Ascension, and the glory that follows.

Through Mary

Contemplating her Son with the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Mary’s place in the Rosary is always bound to Jesus. The mysteries ask us to look upon Christ and the work of salvation while praying in the company of the woman who believed what was spoken to her by the Lord.

“Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.”

Luke 1:45

Never Prayed It Before?

You are welcome here.

You do not need to be an experienced Catholic—or even Catholic at all—to pray with us. Whether you have prayed the Rosary every day for decades, are returning to the faith after years away, are a Christian curious about Catholic prayer, or have never held a Rosary before, you are welcome.

At a rally, you do not need to know every prayer from memory. Come, listen, follow along, and allow the mysteries to draw your attention to Jesus Christ.
